The authors of original research papers should declare any competing interests related to their submitted work. All submitted manuscripts must include a ‘conflict of interests’ statement at the end of the manuscript (financial and non-financial). 

Editors and reviewers should also declare any competing interests and can leave the peer review process if the potential for bias exists.
