Editorial Policy of PJMD

I. THE EDITORIAL TEAM

Pakistan Journal of Medicine and Dentistry (PJMD) is headed by Executive Editor and Editorial Board Members. The Editors and Editorial Board is appointed on the basis of the journal's need for representation from a particular area. The board is committed to maintaining high journal standards and is supported by an Editorial Office Team.

II. THE REVIEW PROCESS

Pakistan Journal of Medicine and Dentistry (PJMD) comprises of an editorial office policy for manuscript reviewing.

Initial review is internally done by in-house editors for its originality and quality of work. Accordingly manuscript may be rejected at this stage or be sent back to the authors for corrections. Manuscripts that do not meet the standards of the journal are returned to authors with decisions.

Peer reviewing, the corrected manuscript resubmitted after incorporation of initial comments is sent to appropriate reviewers. The peer reviewed manuscript is either rejected or sent back to authors for revision.

Revised manuscripts, if deemed acceptable as per journal policy, are finally evaluated for acceptance. When the article is accepted, it is prioritized for publication. Editors prioritize the transcript and ensure that the manuscript is published without undue delay.

III. DECLINING A MANUSCRIPT

PJMD may refuse a manuscript on following grounds:

1. The findings are not sufficiently novel

2. Do not provide sufficient new insights

3. Do not contain enough new information

4. Are too preliminary to warrant publication
